Summary

The Conservator position at the University College Cork involves ensuring the accessibility and preservation of the Library's traditional (non-digital) collections. The Conservator will work with library staff to identify, assess, and inventory the conservation needs of the library's collections, lead the identification of conservation priorities, and manage a workflow for conservation or withdrawal of materials. They will also contribute to the Library's outreach and engagement strategies. The role requires a graduate degree or higher qualification from a recognized conservation or heritage science program, at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, and accreditation under the Institute of Conservator-Restorers in Ireland or equivalent. The candidate must demonstrate excellent problem-solving, decision-making, project management, and communication skills.
