SCONUL launches Leading libraries programme - Mon, 2 Oct 2017

SCONUL has today published a series of practical support measures for leaders.

These are designed to build leadership capacity across the sector, and to support library leaders in their own leadership development.

We have developed a leadership support offer tailored to the needs of different groups within the SCONUL community: aspiring, emerging, newly appointed and established leaders. This includes a new mentoring scheme, an Experience Exchange Register, research on perceptions of library leaders; a literature review on leading libraries in challenging times and briefing papers on coaching and mentoring, and on action learning sets for deputies.

The work has been carried out by the Leadership Task and Finish Group which was set up in 2016 to deliver on the objectives set out in the SCONUL Strategy 2016-19.
