The government has issued new guidance to the Department for Fair Access (DFA) for how universities will work to reach students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The press release outlining the expectations are here:

Access agreements (required for universities charging more the £6,000) will be monitored and reviewed annually by the DFA and progress published. The guidance for access agreements outlines expectations for increased outreach to disadvantage neighbourhoods. It goes further than previous guidance in naming specific target groups, including students with learning difficulties. This is a particular group where the library will have a key role in providing the required additional support.
