An open letter has been sent to WIPO’s Director General Francis Gurry from the research and education community. The letter highlights existing barriers to research caused by copyright and intellectual property rights, and calls on the Organisation to take four steps to promote research and access rights to tackle the coronavirus outbreak and its consequences.
