Systems Manager
The Systems Manager for the University Library is responsible for managing, developing, and supporting information systems and technology within the library. The role involves leading the development of information systems, maintaining links with system suppliers, and contributing to planning and policy-making for library systems. Main duties include managing and monitoring library systems, advising on new technological developments, planning and managing system upgrades, and overseeing the work of the Systems Administrator. The role also involves coordinating support and training for staff, managing IT equipment budget, and building relationships with colleagues throughout the university. The job is full time and permanent, with no specified hours. Essential skills include IT proficiency, analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills. A degree is required, and experience of managing software or information systems projects is desirable.
