Open Access Manager
The Open Access Manager is responsible for overseeing the content, policies, and workflows needed to operate the University's Open Access repository. This includes managing and validating all research outputs into Pure and ensuring their flow into the repository. The manager ensures compliance with Open Access requirements of UKRI, the Research Excellence Framework (REF), and research funders.
The role includes providing expert advice on technical publication issues, delivering clear reports on repository content, working in partnership with faculties, and advocating for "Open by Default". The manager will also administer user accounts, maintain system administration functions, and develop efficient policies for repository operations.
Candidates should possess a degree or equivalent experience in librarianship or information science, high-level technical understanding of repositories, excellent digital literacy, and good interpersonal and analytical skills. Experience in designing and delivering training, leading and motivating teams is desirable.
