Job Description

Summary

The Student Engagement Officer will lead and manage student engagement activities in support of Library & Learning Resources (L&LR) service design, development, and quality enhancement. They will work closely with students to develop and test new or enhanced library services, assist in the recruitment and management of volunteers, and develop new mechanisms for seeking and analysing feedback on services. The role is student-led and open to ideas, with duties expected to evolve over time.

Key responsibilities include leading student engagement activities, creating effective partnerships with the student body, identifying opportunities for service enhancement, and initiating work placement projects. The officer will also be expected to contribute to focus groups and surveys, report on the impact of student engagement activities, and promote L&LR and its resources.

Candidates must hold a first degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field and have experience working with students in a library or education environment. They should be proactive, able to listen to students' ideas and encourage innovation, and demonstrate a commitment to engaging with customer feedback. Other essential skills include ability to communicate clearly, manage multiple projects, and excel in digital literacy.
