Special Collections and Archives Assistant
Special Collections and Archives Assistant provides effective support to deliver a range of archives and special collections services to both internal and external users. They will apply specialist knowledge to work with archival material, support preservation and reprographics work, and contribute to Archives and Special Collections exhibitions.
Key responsibilities include supporting the Archives and Special Collections search room services (25%), planning and delivering copying work for reprographic orders (25%), working on the delivery of exhibition programmes (20%), contributing to the Archives and Special Collections listing programme (20%), and engaging in training and development opportunities (5%).
The job requires the applicant to be physically active and able to move and lift collections. They may occasionally need to work outside normal working hours and may be asked to work at another campus location. The candidate should have experience working in a Library or Archives environment, knowledge of photography and exhibition work, and expertise in relevant library or archive systems.
