Job Description

Summary

The Lead Librarian for Teaching & Pedagogy is responsible for overseeing the library’s approach to pedagogy and embedding skills workshops into the curriculum. This role involves operational oversight for delivering a highly professional, student-focused service across all campuses and online. The role requires designing and developing teaching skills, representation at committees and external events, and proactive involvement in service level agreements.

Key responsibilities include operational oversight of in-person and livestreamed teaching activities, designing learning interventions, partnering with programme leads to fulfil requirements, and designing high-quality workshops and webinars to support students' skills. The role also involves working with stakeholders at all levels, working with national and local Programme Leads, leading projects for ongoing service improvement and developing teaching programmes on information literacy, digital and academic skills.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or have equivalent qualification/experience, have a teaching qualification (FHEA or ALDinHE Certified Practitioner), and have a library or information qualification or equivalent experience. Experience in managing and leading a team, teaching and training in a library context, and working in a customer service environment is essential. Excellent knowledge of current information literacy and pedagogy practices, expert communication skills, and strong IT skills are also required.
