Job Description

Summary

The University of Manchester is seeking an Executive Office Manager to coordinate and develop library policy, operational planning, and ensure best practices across all teams of the University Library. This role involves research, data compilation, report writing, critical analysis, and evaluation of complex information. It also involves providing senior administrative support to the Library Executive Team (LET) and Library Leadership Team (LLT). The Executive Office Manager will also work closely with the LET and the University Librarian to improve the operational delivery of the Library and its long-term performance. Key responsibilities include managing the work and staff of the Library Office, providing executive and strategic advice to the University Librarian, writing creatively and with political sensitivity, and managing relationships at every level of the University. The candidate must have a relevant honours degree or significant vocational experience, demonstrable management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to work, and a thorough knowledge and understanding of policy, practices and procedures relevant to the role.
