Subject Liaison Librarian
The role of Subject Liaison Librarian involves providing library support for the academic work of students and staff of specific departments within a faculty. This encompasses developing collections, enhancing student experience, delivering information skills sessions, providing expert advice and promoting Library services. The role also involves managing resources, reviewing subscriptions, contributing to decision-making about future spending and participating in the development and delivery of information literacy programmes.
The job holder will collaborate on various projects, promote the use of the Research Repository and partake in departmental and University activities. The position requires a degree or post-graduate qualification in Librarianship/ Information Science or equivalent, experience in delivering academic support services, excellent IT and organisational skills, and strong communication skills. The candidate should have an understanding of the practical and pedagogical issues facing university staff and students, a positive approach to team working, and a proactive and flexible approach to working in a complex, busy environment.
