Summary

Archivist: The role involves providing professional knowledge and expertise for the planning, development, and delivery of archive services and providing specialist advice to users of the Special Collections. Other responsibilities include supporting teaching, learning, research, and engagement across the university, preparing catalogs and lists, and making collections available to support a range of users. The postholder will also be required to design, deliver, evaluate and promote archive services, assess user's information needs, manage and curate archive collections, and advise users on the use of the collections. Management and development of staff and participation in expert networks are also part of the role. The candidate should have a skill level equivalent to the achievement of HND, Degree, NVQ4 or a basic professional qualification, proven experience of planning and progressing work activities, and knowledge of the specialist services provided. Membership of CILIP, Archives and Records Association or other relevant professional body is desirable. The post is office-based.
