Summary

This job description is for a 3D Specialist position at the University of Southampton.

The 3D Specialist will be responsible for creating and developing digital scholarship services in the area of Extended Reality (XR). They will support the library with various recording methods and create innovative interactive experiences to increase engagement and access to library and university collections.

The role includes developing strategies for digital recording and creation of engaging XR experiences, contributing to services, managing and contributing to projects, supporting library policy development, and managing direct reports. The specialist will also need to take part in training and development opportunities and perform any other duties as assigned by their line manager.

Qualifications required include a degree or equivalent in Digital Art, Game Design, Heritage related subjects or other relevant subject, along with knowledge and experience in 3D recording and engaging XR experiences. The role may require occasional travel to other UK University campuses.
