Summary

The University of Southampton's Deputy Director of Library Services. The role involves leading on University teaching, learning, and research engagement across the institution and externally. The Deputy Director will have strategic responsibility for resource allocation and planning the Library's budget. They will oversee the long-term strategy, policy, and planning of departmental input and lead major projects driven by the University's strategic plans.

The role also involves leadership and management of team members, developing strategic partnerships, overseeing the implementation of new technologies, and developing Special Collections and Archives. The successful candidate will need to have a professional or postgraduate qualification in a field relevant to the post, proven leadership experience, and an excellent understanding of the Higher Education sector. They will also need to demonstrate effective planning, problem-solving, and communication skills. Part of the Senior Leadership team on-call emergency rota, the Deputy Director may occasionally be required to work outside normal working hours.
