Summary

The University of Brighton is seeking a Head of Library Academic Engagement. This senior role involves managing the Libraries department, and ensuring the delivery of library academic engagement provisions, in line with university strategic objectives. The position requires strategic leadership and motivation of the library Academic Engagement team, with responsibilities such as academic liaison, information and digital literacy skills development, and support of learning, teaching, and research. Other duties include overseeing budget allocation, leading on academic engagement work, coordinating operational plans, chairing committees, and ensuring high-quality customer service. The ideal candidate will have a professional qualification in library and information work or equivalent, excellent communication and organizational skills, substantial experience in staff and service management in an academic library, and experience in budget and project management. The role requires occasional travel to other university sites.
