Summary

The Reading List Coordinator is a key role in the Library Department at New Cross, London. This role requires the individual to manage the online reading list service effectively, ensuring that learning materials are readily available for students. The Coordinator is also responsible for training and coaching Senior Library Assistants and Library Assistants on reading list workflows and relevant technologies. They will also liaise with academic departments, professional services teams and suppliers to develop and maintain the service. Main duties include developing the reading list service, leading advocacy and training, maintaining in-depth knowledge in their area of work, and supervising the work of library assistants. The Reading List Coordinator will also analyse data and statistics to provide insights on trends and priorities, maintain good relationships with stakeholders and contribute to Library engagement and outreach activities. A degree level education or equivalent experience is essential, along with experience in a library, information service or customer service environment. Knowledge of how an academic library operates, print and electronic resources, and current and emerging technology is also necessary.
