Job Description

Summary

The Assistant Librarian at the University of West London is responsible for managing the collection of print and digital resources. This includes cataloguing, classification, and metadata services, as well as managing procurement activities and the library's budget. The role also involves resolving access issues to electronic resources and ensuring the cataloguing of all items to the MARC21 standard. Other duties include managing purchase orders, assisting with resource ordering and receipt, handling travel and accommodation arrangements for the library services, and contributing to the library's virtual chat service.

The ideal candidate should have a degree or equivalent experience. They should have experience in a library environment and with print or electronic resources. Excellent administrative and IT skills, high accuracy levels, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are necessary. The candidate should be adaptable, committed to meeting user needs, and open to participating in staff development.
