Job Description

Summary

The role involves ensuring high-quality customer service, maintaining the study environment, assisting the Campus Librarian with support services, training, collections, and managing the library's operational environment. The role also involves assisting users with inquiries, providing first-line IT support, and managing induction activities.

Candidates should have a first degree or equivalent, experience working in a library, customer service, or IT environment, and excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. They should understand learning, teaching, research, and the requirements of diverse students. They should be adaptable, able to work with minimal supervision, possess good time management skills, and be willing to work flexibly, including occasional weekends and evenings.

The Assistant Librarian will also be involved in preparing and delivering information literacy teaching for students, managing induction activities, and testing, implementing, and supporting new technologies to enhance access to resources and support learning. They should comply with all of the University's procedures, policies, and regulations and be willing to undertake training and development in customer care, first aid, fire safety, and health and safety processes.
